Learn How to Research This Important Collection
The Sons of the Revolution in the State of New York (SRNY) has documented descendants of those who served in the American Revolution since its founding in 1883. Its records are available to researchers through the NYG&B’s Online Collections. With a second release of scanned membership applications in October 2026, the full collection is now online.
In this online session, Kalyn Loewer, Manager, Digital Collections, demonstrates how to make the most of the collection and the genealogical information it contains.
Whether you are tracing a Revolutionary War ancestor or studying New York families of the period, you will leave ready to search the collection on your own.
This is a free online webinar, but registration is required.

- Correspondence and certificates
- Biographical detail on everyday New Yorkers and on descendants of notable families such as the Astors, Hamiltons, Morgans, and Roosevelts
- Records of the SRNY’s activities and its stewardship of Fraunces Tavern
