Team NYG&B at the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon
The NYG&B is proud to be an official Bronze Level Charity for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon.
For the first time, we will sponsor three runners to claim a spot on Team NYG&B and fundraise for our organization, supporting our Digitize New York initiative throughout the five boroughs and beyond.

Details
- Three runners will be chosen to run for Team NYG&B.
- Once selected, each runner will be provided with a personalized fundraising page to share with their community.
- All money raised will go toward supporting our statewide Digitize New York initiative to preserve historical records and make them freely available online.
- Each runner must commit to fundraising $4,000 to support Digitize New York.
- Each runner must sign a fundraising agreement.
- The NYG&B will spotlight our runners on various communications channels, promoting their fundraising campaigns while rallying support for race day.
- All runners will receive a Team NYG&B Fundraising Toolkit to help meet their fundraising goal.
- All runners receive an official Team NYG&B shirt, NYG&B-branded products, and NYG&B genealogy resources.
- Please note that Team NYG&B runners will be required to pay a race registration fee to participate in the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon ($255.00 for New York Road Runner members; $315.00 for non-members). The NYG&B is not responsible for team members' race registration fee.

Key Dates
- The 2026 TCS NYC Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
- Deadline to submit an application for Team NYG&B is Thursday, April 30.
- Applicants will be notified if they have been accepted to be a part of Team NYG&B beginning in May 2026.
- Runners must commit to raising a minimum of $4,000 by October 15, 2026.
Runner Qualifications
- Runners must be familiar with and invested in our mission to preserve, document, and share family history and stories from across New York City and State.
- Runners must provide a general plan of how they will meet their fundraising goals.
- Runners must be enthusiastic about New York history, genealogy, and family history!
