The New York State Family History Conference

Among the NYG&B’s signature events is New York’s largest statewide family history conference, a gathering point for the top voices and experts in the genealogy and family history fields. Join researchers, genealogists, and all those interested in family history for dozens of informative sessions on how to navigate family history in New York State.

The NYG&B’s 2027 conference will be in collaboration with the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) Professional Management Conference which takes place on September 22 and September 23 in Albany, NY.

Empire State Exploration

An ideal interactive experience for tracing New York ancestors online under the guidance of genealogy experts. Participants join a small online group of fellow researchers for three day long, at-home sessions of guided research and learning. Each online session is held live and features a special guest expert genealogist, lectures on a range of topics, individual consultation sessions, and group Q&A sessions. Participants have access to materials for 30 days following the program.

Our research tours are an ideal setting for both those beginning their genealogy search and those seeking answers to longstanding New York questions. Registration includes a pre-consultation with a professional genealogist and lectures to prepare you for the on-site guidance offered throughout the program.
