The Sons of the Revolution in the State of New York is a nonprofit society comprised of descendants of those who served in the American Revolutionary War. Since 1883, the organization has worked to preserve the memory, history, and principles of the American Revolution. It is known for its stewardship of Fraunces Tavern, a New York City landmark and the site of Washington's farewell address to his officers in 1783.
Each membership application traces a member's descent from a Revolutionary War patriot, offering a wealth of genealogical and other historical details, including:

- Correspondence and certificates
- Biographical detail on both everyday New Yorkers and notable figures such as descendants of the Astor, Hamilton, Morgan, and Roosevelt families
- Records of SRNY's activities and the stewardship of Fraunces Tavern, one of colonial New York's most significant landmarks and the site of George Washington's farewell speech to his officers in 1783
