The NYG&B’s Digitize New York initiative preserves historical records and makes them accessible for people conducting New York family history research. Through this initiative, the NYG&B is partnering with historical societies, churches, town hall offices, cemeteries, and other organizations as well as researchers across New York State to digitize these records and make them available online.
Join Kalyn Loewer, NYG&B’s Digital Collections Manager, and Anna Gardner, Coordinator, Digitize New York, for an update on:
- Our progress to date in preserving and digitizing records from across New York State
- What’s been happening at our three Digitization Centers based in Buffalo, New York City, and Syracuse and with our loaner digitization kit program
- What’s next for Digitize New York
We will also explore the Immanuel Lutheran Church collection (New York City), which was preserved and made accessible online through Digitize New York. Kalyn will show you what you can find and how you can search this collection.
