Records of the Society of Friends (Quakers), New York Yearly Meeting

The films listed below contain records of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), created by the Monthly Meetings (MM) within the jurisdiction of the New York Yearly Meeting. The original records are now housed at the Friends Historical Library, Swarthmore College. Filming was done by the Genealogical Society of Utah for the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, and NYG&B obtained copies of the films with the permission of the New York Yearly Meeting. The films are now part of the NYG&B Collection at the New York Public Library, microfilm *ZI-1376, reels numbered 1-148 as shown below.

Films are listed under their respective Monthly Meetings (MM), which are shown starting with the oldest meetings on Long Island and moving north and then west, following the migration routes. For each MM the primary county is given, but the MM may have included preparative meetings in adjacent counties. The date of the MM's organization (org.) is shown, along with the parent MM from which it was created and which may have pertinent earlier records. Designations (H) for Hicksite and (O) for Orthodox reflect the schism of 1828 and pertain only to records for that and later years. FHL# indicates Family History Library film numbers.

There are a few films at the end of the list for meetings outside of New York State, which have sometimes been connected with the New York Yearly Meeting (including the separate Orthodox and Hicksite Yearly Meetings of the 19th and early 20th centuries).
