Dive into the incredible collections at The Genealogy Center, part of the Allen County Public Library (ACPL) and the nation’s second-largest family research center. To guide you in your research, participants will receive a personal, one-on-one consultation with an expert genealogist, helping to uncover the right collections and hone research techniques. These dedicated genealogists and library staff will be on hand to assist you as you explore The Genealogy Center’s collections. The program will also include topical lectures throughout the trip as well as social events. See the full schedule below.

Monday, June 19

  • Arrive in Fort Wayne, Indiana (transportation is on your own)

Tuesday, June 20

  • 9 am: Welcome breakfast
  • 10:30 am: Gather in the ACPL lobby
  • 11 am – 12 pm: "Orientation to The Genealogy Center Collections” session
  • 1 – 4 pm: Individual consultations at The Genealogy Center and individual research
  • 4:30 – 5:30 pm : “Introduction to ACPL’s Periodical Source Index (PERSI)” session
  • 6 – 7:30 pm: Social event
