Research in Albany (Fall 2027)

Tuesday, October 19 - Thursday, October 21
In-person
Albany, NY
Sponsored by New York Genealogical and Biographical Society

Join the NYG&B for our annual, three-day research tour in Albany. To make the most of your time during this in-person experience, we highly recommend utilizing the online pre-planning activities (available in September 2027), which include a virtual tour of the facilities, an on-demand orientation session, and a pre-consultation with a professional genealogist.

Following these activities, you will have three days of in-person, assisted research and genealogical camaraderie with the people who know New York best, including a personal, one-on-one consultation during your research at the New York State Archives (NYSA) and New York State Library (NYSL). Both repositories house records you won't find anywhere else in the country specific to individuals with history in New York State.

Onsite consultants to be announced.

Please note: This trip will be most productive for research subjects with history outside of New York City.

Given the nature of this program, the number of participants is extremely limited. Act now to secure your spot!
