Indexing and Digitization During NYG&B Week

Throughout the week there will be several opportunities to participate in our indexing and digitization efforts. Read on to learn how you can join in!

Indexing New York

Join the NYG&B for 36 hours of indexing the New York Land Records Project. This exciting initiative, a partnership between the NYG&B and FamilySearch, will index millions of land records from across the state.

Using FamilySearch’s web-based tools, participants can contribute either from home or in the NYG&B office. Indexers will capture the name and date of recorded transactions and other information to allow for the linkage of these records with original materials. The more people who join in, the more records we'll index—a huge help for future researchers!

Days designated for indexing are noted below, as well as on the sign-up form.

Digitization at the NYG&B

This is a great opportunity to help the NYG&B provide more records online to New York researchers! We will train you to use our scanner and staff will be on hand to assist. Come for either day or both!
