Please join Kalyn Loewer, NYG&B's Digital Collections Manager, and Anna Gardner, NYG&B's Digitize New York Coordinator, for a look at the new Town of Kirkwood collection. They will be joined by Karen Ferguson, Town Historian for the Town of Kirkwood to discuss the local partnership that was integral to this Digitize New York preservation effort, share how the materials were digitized, and then go in-depth on how to locate and view the digital images in this online collection. This is a free online program, but registration is required

 

About the Presenter

Karen Ferguson has been the Town of Kirkwood Historian since August 2021. She is a member of the Association of Public Historians for New York State (APHNYS) and serves as the Region 10 Coordinator for the historians in Broome, Tioga, Chemung, Schuyler, Tompkins, and Chenango Counties. Additionally, she served on the Board of Directors for APHNYS.

In recent years, Karen has spent considerable time researching the early residents of Kirkwood, tracing their roots to the American Revolution, and collaborating with the Sons of the American Revolution to install local Patriot Burials® markers. As historian, Karen is serving as Chairperson for the Kirkwood NY America 250 Celebration taking place on July 4, 2026.
