On October 9, 1825, The Restauration, a slooper from Norway, arrived on the shores of New York with passengers looking for religious freedom and opportunity. This presentation will look at the event of their New York landing, what "The Sloopers" were escaping from in Norway, and what became of the Norwegians in America centuries later, using genealogical tools to trace their ancestors.
This program on tracing Norwegian ancestry is part of our Preserving Your New York Story series and is relevant for anyone with Norwegian ancestors who came through New York City.
This is a free online webinar, but registration is required.
