Sam RobertsThe NYG&B is thrilled to announce the return of the Fall Benefit Luncheon. This year’s event will be held at The Penn Club (30 West 44th Street) on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 12:30 to 2:00 pm, and our featured speaker will be veteran New York Times journalist Sam Roberts.

Sam Roberts has written for The New York Times since 1983, serving as urban affairs correspondent from 2005 to 2015. Most recently, he is The Times’ obituaries reporter. He is also host of the NY1 show “The New York Times Close Up.” Mr. Roberts has won awards from the Society of the Silurians and the Newspaper Guild of New York and has received the Peter Kihss Award from the Fund for the City of New York. Mr. Roberts has written many books over the course of his career, including his most recent publication, The New Yorkers: 31 Remarkable People, 400 Years, and the Untold Biography of the World’s Greatest City, which explores both the greatness and notoriety of New York City over the centuries through some of its history-making residents.
