What was it all about? The largest family history event in New York kicked off with a gathering in Albany, New York and continues online through October 17. Hear NYG&B Team’s reflections on the conference.

Seeing so many members, in person, was just fantastic! It was a wonderful three days of reconnecting with our community. While I enjoyed talking with everyone, the best part was watching them learn from our wonderful speakers and from each other.
–Jen Davis, Director of Development and Membership and NYSFHC Speaker

As a newcomer to the New York genealogical community, there was so much to take in at this year's conference—research methods, rigorous history, and forward-thinking DNA work, to mention just a few. And everyone gathered in-person and online could not have been more inviting and engaged.
–Ryan Gleason, Director of Digital Services

It was wonderful to see so many members of the NYG&B’s community, both in Albany and online during the live broadcasts. It was terrific to see friendships made and renewed during our time together.
–D. Joshua Taylor, President and NYSFHC Speaker

Twelve NYSFHC attendees took time out of their conference experience to help at the registration table and as room monitors during sessions making sure everything went smoothly for other attendees. Volunteers always make NYG&B staff look good while making our jobs easier and more fun. We couldn't have done NYSFHC without them—thank you!
–Anna King, Office Administrator and Volunteer Coordinator and NYSFHC Speaker

Seeing so many people that are passionate about family history, preservation, and genealogical research all in one place was such a fulfilling experience. I particularly enjoyed getting to put faces to names, as well as being able to sit in on some fascinating lectures.
–Kalyn Paige Diehl, Digital Collections Manager and NYSFHC Speaker

NYSFHC 2022 was the first time I got to meet many popular speakers, other professionals, and members of the NYG&B community, and it felt like the perfect event to bring researchers together. There was truly something for everyone at NYSFHC. It was great to see the community come together, and I came away with plenty of new connections.
–Noah Zimmerman, Online Programs Coordinator

Being a part of NYSFHC 2022 was a fantastic experience. It was wonderful to see everyone gathered together, learning, sharing, and connecting through New York family history!
–Alisha Delisle, Grants Coordinator

Knowledgeable speakers—on their topics—shared methods, resources, and tips so our community could learn more to find their ancestors. Our thanks go out to the speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors, who enabled us to share the conference with you.
–Susan R. Miller, Director of Programs and Publications and NYSFHC Speaker
