The New York Family History School

Learn at your own pace through guided, on-demand sessions focusing on a specific family history topic. Registration includes access to multiple course sessions for 60-days, two live group sessions, syllabus materials, a certificate of completion, and an invitation to the annual online New York Family History School alumni reception.

Empire State Exploration

An ideal interactive experience for tracing your New York ancestors from home with New York’s experts. Participants join a small online group of fellow researchers for three days of guided research and learning, held live. Each online session features a guest genealogist, multiple lectures, individual consultation sessions, and group Q&A periods. Attendees have access to materials for 30 days following the program.

Our research tours are an ideal setting for both those just beginning their genealogy search and those seeking answers to longstanding New York questions. Registration includes a pre-consultation with a professional genealogist and lectures to prepare you for the on-site guidance offered throughout the program.
