Digitization Evening Workshop

5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. EST | In Person at the NYG&B

Interested in volunteering to preserve and digitize records, but can’t make it in during work hours? The NYG&B is offering an evening workshop for anyone in the New York City metro area who would like to learn more about our Digitization Center as we work to preserve records. Our staff will answer your questions, offer opportunities to try out our digitization technology, and share the volunteer opportunities available at our Digitization Center.

What’s in Store for 2024

The NYG&B's Digital Catalog: Marriage Record Releases

3 p.m. to 4 p.m. EST | In Person at the NYG&B and Online

Join our digital team as they survey the many marriage records found on the NYG&B website, including collections released in just the past few months, like New York City marriage contracts, 1902-1907 and Province of New York marriage licenses, pre-1784. Participants will also get an exclusive preview of a unique—and massive—set of marriage records coming to the NYG&B in spring 2024.

NYG&B Informational Session: Discover Your New York Story

Not yet a member of the NYG&B? Come to an in-person Informational Session with light refreshments to learn more about the NYG&B and how we can connect you to the stories and history of your New York ancestors in more detail than you ever thought possible. You will meet NYG&B staff members who will share what you can discover and access.

Join us for a live Q&A with D. Joshua Taylor, NYG&B President, and Susan R. Miller, NYG&B Director, Publications, and get your questions answered. They will be on hand to field questions related to New York genealogy and family history and share their expertise.
