Each participant will be given access to a free ancestral DNA test from LivingDNA (the DNA test is optional for participants) and learn about the following topics:

  • Ancestry and genetic testing
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Migration patterns (specifically in NYC)
  • The influence of media on the perception on diversity and immigration
  • Creating family histories

The DNA program will be run in partnership with LivingDNA, a collaboration of over 100 world-leading scientists, academic researchers and genetic experts from across the globe with the purpose of bringing cutting edge DNA technology to the world.

The program will be facilitated by a certified NYC high school teacher* and will be a fascinating look at how similar we are when it comes to our DNA.

When and Where: Sessions will run each day between July 24 and July 26 from 10am – 12:30pm at the NYG&B headquarters, 36 West 44th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues).

Cost and Registration: $30 per individual (for all three days). Click here to register or call 212-755-8532, x208 for assistance.

*This summer program is not affiliated with the NYC Department of Education.
