NYG&B Preservation Day

Friday, August 28 from 02:00pm EDT - 04:00pm EDT
In-person
36 West 44th Street, Suite 711, New York, NY 10036
Presented By Kalyn Loewer, Manager of Digital Collections at the NYG&B
Sponsored by New York City Department of Cultural Affairs

If you reside in or are visiting the New York City area, join us for Preservation Day — a free, walk-in event where you can digitally preserve your own family records using our state-of-the-art Copibook scanner. This is a free event but registration is required.

How it works: A Preservation Day is walk-in and first-come, first-served. There are no fixed appointment times — simply stop by any time during the event hours and add your name to the queue. No walk-ins after 3:45 PM.

NYG&B staff will guide you through the image capture technologies that we use in our digital preservation work. Participants will receive a portable drive that contains their own archivable, high-resolution digital files.

This series is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
