This collection contains abstracted marriage and death information from in and around the vicinity of Queens county as well as parts of what we now consider Nassau county. These records span from 1847 to 1870. The newspapers this information came from is unknown, although some of it may have been gathered from the Flushing Journal.

The marriage records contain full names and hometowns of the brides and grooms. The dates of the marriage are listed in chronological order.

The death records, contain the date of death, age upon death, hometown, and, in the case of some women, a husband’s name.

Depending on the type of record you are looking at, you may be able to discover an ancestors full name, spouses name, age, date of event, place of event and hometown.

The interments report for Flushing Cemetery, 1865 often includes age and cause of death.

The Long Island casualties are a list of those Long Island men who were wounded or killed in the Battle of Gettysburg. You may be able to find these men in our U.S. Civil War Soldiers, 1861-1965 record set. (hyperlink)
