Meryl Schumacker is a genealogist, writer, and the NYG&B’s Genealogist-in-Residence. She earned her Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University and completed continuing education at the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR) in Athens, Georgia.

In 2017 she received the Association of Professional Genealogists' Young Professional Scholarship and the Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies' Birdie Monk Holsclaw Memorial Scholarship.
