The New York Digitization and Indexing Project aims to place thousands of records from across the state of New York online. Over the last two years, we have been able to create digital records of thousands of documents thanks to the deliberate and generous efforts of volunteers.
On a weekly basis, the NYG&B staff welcomes individuals willing to give their time to the very important and time-consuming process of scanning page after page of family histories, historical records and documents of invaluable content. Our many volunteers have spent hours hard at work, and exceeded even our wildest expectations.
As part of NYG&B Week (January 7-14), we have designated Wednesday, January 9 as a Digitization Day.
Can you help us kick off the digitization of a new collection?
It is easy to learn; no special skills required. If you can’t join us on the 8th, come another day!
We provide training, while you provide the time. For more information, contact Anna King at [email protected] and (212) 755-8532, ext. 207.
