Come to the Tenement Museum for a joint program that explores family history research and the stories of New York immigrants.

This rare opportunity allows you to improve your family history research skills, and attend a thrilling behind-the-scenes tour of this famous and unique museum - all in a single evening. 

There are two different options for the program based on your level of research expertise:

 

Museum Tour & Introductory Family History Workshop

First, tour the museum to explore how the family stories at 97 Orchard have been researched, unearthed, and pieced together.

Then participate in a hands-on workshop with an NYG&B genealogist to assist you in researching and discovering your own family’s history. This workshop is for those who are just starting out with genealogical research.

 

Advanced Family History Workshop & Museum Tour – July 19 sold out

Experienced family historians will participate in a hands-on workshop with an NYG&B genealogist to assist you in researching and discovering your own family’s history.

Then, tour the museum to explore how the family stories at 97 Orchard have been researched, unearthed, and pieced together. This workshop is for those with advanced genealogical research experience.
