Description: DAVIS. Seeking the parents of Henry C. Davis born about 1831, in Connecticut. A shoemaker by trade, he lived in Manhattan by 1850. In 1853 married Amelia Baxter, daughter of John Henry Baxter and Eliza (maiden name perhaps Thomas). Lived by 1860 in Williamsburgh, Brooklyn. He died in the Civil War in 1861.
