Description: Looking for information about John James Roseau Sammis, b. 1812 in Huntington, L.I., was a policeman in 7th Ward N.Y.C.. He married a woman we believe was Elizabeth Acker(t) who died 1850 or before. He married a second time but information re that marriage is not needed. Any help is most appreciated.
