Sharing Stories: Polish Life in Our Valley
Join the Genealogy Society of Bergen County (GBSC) for a video presentation that describes life in the Polish immigrant community in the Connecticut River Valley. The video aims to broaden the common view of the Polish experience beyond polkas and kielbasa, and along the way, inspire others to learn about their own cultural heritage. The importance of the Catholic Church to the first Polish immigrants to America, and the role it continues to play in the life of present-day Polish-Americans is examined. Polish heritage in the arts, from folk art of egg decorating, costume design, and music is explored.
