The G&B is a membership organization, and new members are always welcome. Benefits of membership include subscriptions to our two quarterly publications, the Record and the Researcher, and discounts on other publications; four free queries per year in the Researcher (also reprinted on our website); access to the NYG&B Community Bulletin Board; remote access to Early American Newspapers, the NYG&B eLibrary &B's website*; a discount membership to WorldVitalRecords.com; and reduced fees for educational programs.

The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society is a tax-exempt organization under Sec. 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Society considers membership dues to be tax-deductible, except for the first $30.

Membership in the NYG&B

The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society is a tax-exempt organization under Sec. 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  For tax purposes, the non-deductible portion of membership dues is $30. 

Types of Membership

Individual 2-year Membership: $100.00
An individual 2-year membership includes a subscription to the Record and the Researcher, remote access through the NYG&B's website, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website, discounts on other Society publications, and educational programs.

Joint 2-year Membership: $150.00
A 2-year joint membership is entitled to one subscription to the Record and the Researcher, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website. Both people holding the joint membership have remote access through the NYG&B's website, and discounts on other Society publications, and educational programs.

Individual Annual Membership: $60.00
An individual annual membership includes a subscription to the Record and the Researcher, remote access through the NYG&B's website, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website, discounts on other Society publications, and educational programs.

Individual Life Membership: $1,500.00
A onetime payment of $1,500 provides life membership privileges for one individual. An individual membership includes a lifetime subscription to the Record and the Researcher, remote access through the NYG&B's website, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website, discounts on other Society publications, and educational programs.

Joint Annual Membership: $90.00
A joint membership is entitled to one subscription to the Record and the Researcher, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website. Both people holding the joint membership have remote access through the NYG&B's website, and discounts on other Society publications, and educational programs.

Joint Life Membership: $2,250.00
A onetime payment of $2,250 provides life membership privileges for "two members of the same family residing in the same household." A joint membership is entitled to one subscription to the Record and the Researcher, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website. Both people holding the joint membership have remote access through the NYG&B's website, and discounts on other Society publications, and educational programs.

Annual Corporate Membership: $250.00
Provides one subscription to the Record and the Researcher, discounts, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website. Remote access to the Early American Newspapers, the NYG&B eLibrary; are available to individuals (including joint members) only and not to entities such as Corporate members.

Life Corporate Membership: $7,500.00
Provides one subscription to the Record and the Researcher, discounts, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website. Remote access to the Early American Newspapers, and the NYG&B eLibrary; are available to individuals (including joint members) only and not to entities such as Corporate members.

Annual Institutional Membership: $250.00
Provides one subscription to the Record and the Researcher, discounts, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website. Remote access to the Early American Newspapers, and the NYG&B eLibrary; are available to individuals (including joint members) only and not to entities such as Institutional members.

Life Institutional Membership: $7,500.00
Provides one subscription to the Record and the Researcher, discounts, four free queries per year in the Researcher and on our website. Remote access to the Early American Newspapers, and the NYG&B eLibrary; are available to individuals (including joint members) only and not to entities such as Institutional members.
